Fu 10K Ways Review

The Asian installment had to come sooner or later as the 10K Ways series keeps marching forward, and Fu 10K Ways is a typical release in that regard. It’s basically a reskin job, which is often the case with oriental-themed releases, and the honor went to Shamrock Money Pot 10K Ways. The typical asian symbols explode like firecrackers when removed via the Cascading Wins mechanic, but the base game gives you nothing extra but wilds on the top reel.

It becomes tedious after a while, although the pace of the game is pretty good. The presentation will probably not impress too many westerners either, but these visuals could be all the rage in the far East for all we know. The main attraction is the Bonus Respins round, which is a hold & win feature with prizes up to 10,000x your stake, and the overall max win is a decent 12,309x your stake.

Fu 10K Ways Slot Features

The premium symbols pay between 2 and 100 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and all winning symbols are removed via the Cascading Wins mechanic. This allows for new and/or existing symbols to drop down to fill the gaps, and the process repeats for as long as you keep landing new winning combinations. The Lion Wild can help you out in that regard, as it steps in for pay symbols to help complete wins.

The wild appears on the top horizontal reel only, however.

You need at least 6 cash/prize scatters in view to trigger the Bonus Respins feature, and the triggering scatters become sticky on an otherwise cleared grid. You start with 3 respins in the tally, and only new cash and/or bonus prize scatters, as well as blanks, will land on the bonus round grid. The respins tally resets for each new non-blank symbol you land, and these also become sticky.

The feature ends when you either run out of respins, or when you fill the grid completely with cash/prize symbols. The scatter symbols come with cash prizes between 1x and 100x your stake, and you can also land 5 different bonus prizes. These pay 10x, 50x, 150x, 2,000x, or 10,000x your stake, and are known as the Mini, Minor, Major, Grand, and 10K Bonus.

You get to see a few smaller base game wins, before we land 6 cash scatters around 0:51 into the 2:19-minute highlights video. We are not gonna reveal up front how much we got away with, but you can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.

Review Summary

The 10K Ways engine is probably not gonna burst onto the mainstream scene unless Reel Play does something a bit more imaginative and bold with it from now on. Fu 10K Ways is basically a reskin of another less-than-innovative release, namely the Irish Luck themed Shamrock Money Pot 10K Ways. It’s a decent game by all means, but the Asian theme will make it a hard sell in the west.

If this is the last installment in the 10K Ways range, which we doubt, the ‘Fu’ part of the title is a refreshing subliminal to say the least. Why Reel Play has not implemented the instant jackpot concept in this game is beyond us, as it would’ve lifted the base game considerably. As is, it all revolves around the hold & win bonus round, which admittedly comes with decent prizes up to 10,000x your stake. The original didn’t fare too well, and we don’t see this one doing better.

Pros

  • Cascading Reels and wilds on the top reel
  • Bonus Respins w/ up to 10,000x jackpots
  • Overall potential is 12,309x your stake

Cons

  • Reskin of Shamrock Money Pot 10K Ways
  • Beware of customizable RTP ranges
