Truth be told, we do have some issues understanding Swintt as a company. On one hand, they are clearly capable of launching some top-notch slots every now and then. On the other hand, they are also clearly capable of launching many mediocre games, and they aren’t limiting themselves in that regard. Does the Big Max Books Unlimited slot belong to the former category, though, or is it one of those more mediocre games that we’ve mentioned. Thematically, Big Max Books Unlimited is a basic fruit slot, and its production values are – unfortunately – on the lower side of the spectrum. In fact, we’re very disappointed that the designers reversed course a bit and decided to go for something this simple yet again, but there you go. There are 9 pay symbols in Big Max Books Unlimited, and they are just your basic variety of fruit symbols, BAR symbols and sevens.

Since Big Max Books Unlimited is a “Book of” slot at its core, it won’t surprise you to learn that it has only Book symbols for specials. These work as both Wilds and Scatters, which means that they can both substitute for pay symbols and trigger free spins.

Land 3 or more Book symbols to trigger the Free Spins feature with 10 free spins, and these come with randomly-chosen Expanding Symbols that are called Lucky Symbols in the actual game. These symbols can expand to cover entire reels and even pay out when not fully adjacent, which makes for more frequent wins.

Notably, retriggers add one additional Expanding Symbol to your arsenal, and you can have as many as 9 in play in total if you get enough retriggers!

Pretty much any win can then be boosted via the Gamble option, though it’s your basic card-guessing minigame that we’ve all already seen many times before.

Review Summary

All in all, Big Max Books Unlimited just isn’t worth your time. Its gameplay has been done before, so it doesn’t actually bring anything new to the table. What’s more, it’s wrapped up in a poor audiovisual package here, and it’s also quite easy to criticize the math model that’s on offer. Sadly, we can’t recommend this release to anyone.
