Red Tiger has had some success with the 2 previous installments in the Pirates Plenty series, and a Megaways version seems like the next logical step. The core features have wisely been carried over, but with enough tweaks to make this game a unique experience. Of course, the Megaways steroids help in that regard also, making this the biggest and boldest seafaring adventure so far.

Unlocking up to 200,704 win ways is a somewhat exciting prospect, not least when you factor in the expanding multiplier wilds that hang around until you win. This, combined with the royal removal monkey wild, helps keep the base game interesting enough, while you wait to trigger the progressive multiplier bonus round. If the Wild Ways are unlocked there too, payouts hovering above 10,000x are within reach.

Pirates Plenty Megaways Features

All winning symbols are removed from the reels, and new symbols drop from above to fill the gaps. This is the Cascading Wins feature that’s so common in Megaways engine games. The 2 to 7 symbols per reel, as well as up to 117,649 regular gameplay win ways, also adds to the unpredictability of each spin.

There are 3 unique wild features in this game, and the Monkey Wild will remove all low-value symbols whenever it lands. It will then become sticky for the following cascading sequence. If the Piraty Plenty series was a trilogy, this Megaways version would be the perfect ending to top it all off. However, we suspect more follow-up titles from Red Tiger, and that’s all well and good. Hallmark elements, like the cheeky monkey wild and the treasure map reel unlocking feature, has been carried over successfully, with the added excitement this engine offers.

Fans will hardly be disappointed in other words, although you’ll see less pirate battle action, or none at all really, in this game. The expanding multiplier wild, that sticks around until you win, sprinkle the base game with exciting moments.
